Key people

The combined credit management experience of our management team at Sovereign Credit Management exceeds 80 years.

Sarah Hatswell
Managing Director
email:sarahh@sovcredit.co.uk

Sarah became joint founding partner of Sovereign Credit Management in 1991 when she was just 25 after having previously worked at a number of other credit management agencies. Sarah set up Sovereign Credit Management as she felt that the other credit management agencies she had worked for did not have the same levels of drive and passion that she had for this type of business. Sarah is one of the few women managing directors of a UK credit management company.

Sarah's management style inspires hard work and loyalty. One of the key methods used by Sarah to inspire this hard work and loyalty is by providing staff with maximum training opportunities and tangible career paths. Sarah does this by drawing upon her many years of experience in credit management and delivers a great deal of training herself to staff at all levels of the organisation. Sarah also combines this personal training with the provision of several professional qualifications for her team, including Institute of Credit Management qualifications, for which Sovereign run a credit management training centre.

Sarah has grown Sovereign Credit Management organically over the last 16 years and has made it one of the most respected companies in the credit sector, winning many awards along the way; some recent awards include: Employer Led Learning Award 2006 – Best Training Provider (Sussex Spring Awards), Boss of The Year 2004 (Executive PA Magazine) and Employer of The Year 2004 (Executive PA Magazine).

Andrew Colin
Director

Andrew became an investor in Sovereign alongside MD, Sarah Hatswell, following the death of Sarah’s former business partner in 2003.

Andrew’s acute business acumen has equipped him for a number of significant successes including a major education enterprise. Having founded the business, Andrew then developed it into an international concern with operations throughout North America, Australia as well as the UK. It is now part of the Daily Mail Group. Andrew is also Chairman of Espalier Private Equity, a specialist property investment business and Chairman of Pinnacle Developments a developer of educational and key worker accommodation. Andrew’s business development experience is a valued asset to Sovereign’s senior management team.

Andrew is 44 and has four children. When work and family allow, he enjoys skiing especially heli-skiing, for the adrenalin rush and excitement. He is also a long-suffering supporter of Grimsby Town FC and, in his words, ‘other lost causes’

Rebecca Goodger
Director of Operations
Email: rebeccag@sovcredit.co.uk

Becky joined Sovereign Credit Management in January 2003 as a Telephone Accounts Manager, and was quickly promoted to a Supervisor within the collections department. Becky was responsible for the BT Project which saw collections of over £7m over a 13 month period, and a significant increase in head count within Sovereign. On completion of the BT Project, and on the back of her excellent organisational skills Becky stepped into a more operational based role working closely with Managing Director Sarah Hatswell.

Becky’s is now Director of Operations, where she has been responsible for new bonus schemes, improved staffing processes and the review of employment contracts for new starters at Sovereign.

Becky lives in Brighton with husband Jason (our Collections Director) where they enjoy spending time with their children. Becky’s interests include reading, jewellery design and shoes…much to the worry of Jason!
